Gunnison
The Gunnison Chapter of the Safari Club International promotes a public understanding and acceptance of sport hunting as an effective tool for wildlife conservation through educational information and programs.
Safari Club International is the leader in protecting the freedom to hunt and promoting wildlife conservation worldwide. As part of its mission, SCI is dedicated to educating the public about the role hunting plays in effective wildlife management, the importance of wildlife conservation and the role humans play as environmental stewards.
Today, interest in SCI’s two primary missions has grown a worldwide network. Subsequent involvement and promotion of these missions is rooted in each of our nearly 50,000 members, supported through each of our 170 chapters found across the globe – including our own Gunnison Chapter – and put into action by government representatives and personnel, locally, nationally, and internationally. In this way, we can encourage an appreciation for nature and wildlife so that conservation efforts remain strong, while also fighting to protect our rich hunting heritage.
The Gunnison Chapter of SCI is actively involved with numerous projects promoting our core missions of conservation, education, and humanitarian causes. Our chapter works closely with Colorado Parks & Wildlife, and we are proud to be able to offer raffles for each the following Colorado statewide tags annually.

Our Impact
Gunnison SCI contributed $5,000 toward restoring 40 acres of critical winter habitat for elk.
Our list of accomplishments are growing as we secure more influence in our area and in our fund raising.
